The Quarterhorse - I Was on Fire for You - CD
(Radio is Down PMB1436 120 State Ave NE Olympia, WA 98501) What first came
to mind while I was listened to this release was that the band sounded like
a sloppier Brainiac minus a moog. The sound is best summed up as fuzzy guitar
and vocals bubbling from a pit of mud. The final tune on this release is
a cover of "* * * * *" by the Melvins, who seem to have been a big
influence on the band.

The Queers - Beyond the Valley... - CD
(Hopeless Records)
This release is filled with Ramones fueled snot punk. Joe Queer is
one pissed-off angry punk and the lyrics on this release reflect that. With
tunes such as "Strangle the Girl", "Stupid Fuckin Vegan", "My Cunt's a Cunt"
and "I Just Called to Say Fuck You", you don't have to use your imagination
too much on the lyrical content. This is a very catchy CD.

Quiet, Lovely - Automata, Musica - CD
(Quiet, Lovely)
Take away Ben Folds' piano and give him a guitar and what you get
is Quiet, Lovely. The songs are melodic powerhouses, which have just
the right amount of groove. I'm hard put to pick out my favorite tune on
this release since they are all great. However "What a Good Boy am I" did
stand out as being something that would get some radio play on the more
hip radio stations. The lines notes were right. Quiet, Lovely is just that
and so much more.

The Quitters' - Second Album - CD
(Garage Pop Records) I was sitting trying to figure just who this band reminded
me of so that I might adequately describe them. Some bands that initially
popped into my head were New Duncan Imperials, They Might Be Giants
and Webb Wilder, Mick Jagger and The Cult. I know it's
all very weird. For the most part the music is great alternative rock, while
the vocals are a link between Mick Jagger and The Cult but
with the twangy flair of Webb Wilder. While a few of the tunes have
the quirky feeling of the New Duncan Imperials or a more serious
They Might Be Giants. I know it all sounds weird. Maybe I took one
too many allergy pills today. One thing is clear, this CD is great.

QUTH - The Birth Of The Worm - CD
(Monstaar Records)
This Mikhail Salnikov person is one strange cookie. Apart from being a member
of strange projects like Tooth Kink and Mox_Delphinov, he's
also a member of this just as strange project called QUTH. If there
was anything I didn't want to hear today, it was noise, samples and ambince,
but unfortunately that is just what this is: Noise, samples and freaking
drooning ambience. I consider just getting through this disc a small victory,
because believe me, it wasn't easy.

QUTH - The DeathOf The Worm - CD
(Monstaar Records)
Want to know how much I dislike this? Well, check out my review of QUTH's
"The Birth of the Worm." It's the same thing.

QUTH Meets Poostosh - At The Secret Door - CD
(Monstaar Records)
Jesus Christ, this is just as bad as the first QUTH album I heard.
If you like drone and ambient mixed with some horrible noise, then this
might be for you. Otherwise stay away... And I mean it.
